CSCC 2015:  INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON

CIRCUITS, SYSTEMS, COMMUNICATIONS AND COMPUTERS

 

I am co-writing and presenting on further research regarding the use of augmented reality in education with my professor Dr. Minjuan Wang who is an invited plenary speaker.

SOFIEE:  SYMPOSIUM ON THE FUTURE OF INTELLIGENT EDUCATIONAL ENVIRONMENTS 

 

As an organizing committee member and publicity chair, I write web and other PR content to raise awareness of the conference. I am also helping facilitate and arrange a speaker session similar to a TED event. While at the symposium, I plan to serve as a presenter, panelist, and possibly publish a paper.

CHEI:  RESEARCH STUDY FOR CHINA HOSPITALITY EDUCATION INITIATIVE 

 

As part of a three-person team called Trilogy, I conducted research in the deployment and implementation of online curriculum in China. The work included creation of web-based prototypes, case studies, collaboration with entities in the U.S. and China, and travel to China to perform testing and focus group interviews.

Because of my background in supporting teachers with integration of technology in their classrooms, I have facilitated workshops and seminars on the subject at venues from school sites, district and STEM conferences, and at SDCUE. 

CITE 2015:  CONFERENCE SPEAKER

 

I was an invited presenter at the 6th International Conference on Information Technology in Education in Shanghai, China. The topic of my session was Augmented Reality: Teaching and Learning in the Digital Age.  

I also presented this session at the Open University of Shanghai during the same trip. 

SCIENCE FICTION PROTOTYPING:  RESEARCH STUDY FOR THE CREATIVE SCIENCE FOUNDATION

 

In collaboration with San Diego State University and the Creative Science Foundation, our team performed a study of the feasibility of the science fiction prototyping methodology as a tool to motivate students towards STEM topics and careers. As part of the research, I created a presentation to explain the strategy and how it is currently used in the industry. I conducted multiple sessions with students to have them engage with science fiction prototyping, then initiated a survey to collect data.
